Our City, YOUR Voice!

Engage believes in advocacy through empowerment. Municipalities across Ontario run "Resident Satisfaction Surveys" that ask residents important questions about their quality of life, service satisfaction and budget priorities. The City of Windsor does not run these surveys, but with the municipal election approaching we thought it was more important than ever that we discuss these important topics with our community.

Tori-Lee Jenkins

Co-Chair

Tori is a born and bred Windsorite. She works as a lawyer at Legal Assistance of Windsor and oversees the Housing department, working with tenants facing homeless and in precarious housing situations. She has also taught courses in the Faculty of Law at the University of Windsor about access to justice and clinical legal education. Tori believes that the rent she pays on the planet is service to others and takes that commitment very seriously. If you cannot find her in her office, she is likely with her local community theatre group, her two dogs, or she has her headphones on and can’t hear you. Tori brings her legal background and community development practice to Engage where she is excited to share her skillset to continue to work towards a Windsor that we are all proud to call home.

Rachael Travenetti

Board Treasurer

Rachael is the co-owner of Little Foot Foods, long time vendor of the Downtown Windsor's Farmer's Market. Having lived in Windsor her whole life, Rachael feels a deep sense of connection with her community. Rachael is excited to work with a group that will bring together people from all over the city to discuss, get creative, problem solve and celebrate wins in our community.

Maria Boada

Member-At-Large

Maria is a climate specialist at an NGO fostering parliamentary diplomacy across the Americas and the Caribbean, with expertise in environmental policy, stakeholder engagement, and intersectional governance. Maria has contributed to legislative best practices, capacity-building workshops, and initiatives promoting open parliament, gender equality, and sustainability. Beyond her professional role, she serves on the City of Windsor’s Climate Change Advisory Committee, and actively participate in local theater. Committed to environmental advocacy and civic engagement, she envisions fostering transparent governance, and helping empower residents to take part in local decision-making.

Hadi Haidar

Member-At-Large

Hadi is an engineer born and raised in Windsor with a Master’s degree in Management. He is passionate about building equitable, efficient, and sustainable cities, and believes that thoughtful urban design is key to stronger communities. Hadi advocates for a more transit-friendly, walkable, and bikeable Windsor that is safe and affordable for everyone. Above all, he is driven by the goal of helping create a city where future generations can grow up with a true sense of community and access to public spaces designed for people, not cars.

Adam Vasey

Member-At-Large

Adam joined the Engage Windsor board to support more inclusive, community-based approaches to local decision-making. He’s passionate about making civic engagement feel accessible for everyone, especially those who haven’t traditionally felt invited into those
conversations.

In his professional life, Adam is a social worker in private practice. Earlier in his career, he worked on local poverty reduction initiatives aimed at addressing systemic barriers and creating more equitable policy solutions. Adam brings a relational approach to all his work. He believes
that real personal or political change starts from the ground up, through relationships that build trust, understanding and shared purpose.

Josh Sankarlal

Co-Chair

Josh is a graduate of Ontario Tech's Game Development Program and the former President/CEO of the Ontario Tech Student Union. His journey toward municipal advocacy began with a commitment to enhancing transit services in the Durham Region for his constituents. Josh grew to firmly believe that engagement with our democracy, especially municipal, is crucial to our health as a society. That's true now more than ever. Josh is excited to lend his experience in non-profit, public policy and advocacy to Engage Windsor's mission, and looks forward to contributing to making Windsor a better place.
