The City of Windsor should provide residents with easily accessible, reliable, high-quality and useful public and city services that improve Quality of Life in Windsor.
Public services are the foundation of a fair, functional and connected city. Libraries, parks, social supports and community centres shape how we live together. Too often, they are underfunded or overlooked. We treat necessities as extras rather than essential infrastructure that builds our quality of life.
In Windsor, access to dependable and high-quality city services is sorely needed. We must invest in our chronically underfunded libraries, create safe and vibrant public third-spaces and build a community for everyone to enjoy and thrive in.
Engage Windsor is committed to advocating for stronger, well-funded public and city services that reflect the needs of residents. We will advocate that City Council promote:
Health & Social Services
All people have the right to health and safety. Council must ensure access to necessary supports, and work with the Province and Federal government to increase access to shelters, harm reduction and social housing.
Public Libraries
Public Libraries should remain an accessible and trusted public institution. Windsor’s libraries are the lowest funded in Ontario. Council should invest in libraries to expand programming and services.
Public Spaces
Windsor is home to 200+ public parks and community spaces. Windsor residents deserve vibrant community space to foster connection between residents, and Council should work towards activating and improving these spaces for public safety and belonging for all residents.
Our City, 
Engage believes in advocacy through empowerment. Municipalities across Ontario run "Resident Satisfaction Surveys" that ask residents important questions about their quality of life, service satisfaction and budget priorities. The City of Windsor does not run these surveys, but with the municipal election approaching we thought it was more important than ever that we discuss these important topics with our community.
